Music Therapy

Music therapy is a clinical, evidence-based use of music to address the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of patients in end-of-life care. Music therapists use instruments, singing, songwriting, listening, and reminiscence to comfort both patients and families.

Pet Therapy

Pet therapy, also known as animal-assisted therapy (AAT), brings trained animals—often dogs, occasionally cats or rabbits—into care settings to offer companionship, comfort, and connection. These visits are conducted by certified handlers and offer therapeutic benefits for patients, families, and staff.
Why Pet Therapy Matters

  • Enhances Physical Health
  • Boosts Mood & Social Engagement
  • Supports the Whole Family
  • The Evidence Is Clear
Therapy dog visits reduced feelings of loneliness by 60% in elderly patients (International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry, 2017).

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy brings more than relief—it brings human connection, dignity, and presence to the final stage of life. When words fall short, a healing touch can still speak volumes.
What Is Massage Therapy

Is it time?

To be eligible for the Medicare Hospice Benefit, two physicians must certify that the patient is expected to live less than six months if their illness runs its normal course. Often, eligible patients are referred with only days left to live, which limits the full extent of holistic care that the hospice philosophy and team care can provide to the patient and their families. If you have questions regarding hospice eligibility, please get in touch with Amber Hospice and discuss options.

What are my options?

Hospice can be provided wherever you call home, including nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Our experienced hospice team helps you and your family make informed decisions about caregiving and provides comfort as you cope with difficult end-of-life issues.

How will I pay?

Hospice care is a covered benefit under Medicare for people with a life expectancy of six months or less. Medicare will pay up to 100% of the cost of hospice services. Those with Medicare Advantage plans are covered by original Medicare. Individuals with a private health plan should inquire with their insurance provider for details about hospice coverage and any out-of-pocket expenses.

How do I make the move?

If you decide to proceed with hospice care, our dedicated team at Amber Hospice will work with you to create a personalized care plan tailored to your unique needs. Simply give us a call, and we’ll guide you through every step of the process.
